4 Events to Watch in the First Week of October

4 Events to Watch in the First Week of October

XRP is entering October with four major events that could shape its next move. XRP Seoul, the Evernorth acquisition, the XRPN Nasdaq launch, and an XRPL upgrade are all coming within days.

With XRP near $1.58 and up 16.2% this week, traders are watching whether these events can help drive a move toward $2.90.

Oct. 3: XRP Seoul Opens a Busy October

The first major date is Oct. 3, when XRP Seoul is set to bring banks, financial institutions, and Ripple teams together in South Korea.

The event is expected to focus on using the XRP Ledger (XRPL) for cross-border payments and other financial services. RLUSD, Ripple’s stablecoin, is also part of this push and has recently crossed a $2 billion market cap.

Discussions around XRPL’s automated market makers (AMMs) and compliance features could also increase interest from Asian financial institutions.

Oct. 7: Evernorth Deal Brings More Institutional Exposure

Just four days later, another development could add to XRP’s institutional story. The planned acquisition of Evernorth by Ripple-linked entities is scheduled to reach completion on Oct. 7.

Evernorth operates in digital infrastructure and asset management. Its integration could add institutional custody and real-world asset (RWA) infrastructure to the broader ecosystem, further connecting XRP with traditional financial services.

Oct. 8: XRPN Adds Another XRP Investment Route

The momentum continues on Oct. 8, when XRPN is scheduled to begin trading on the Nasdaq.

The launch comes as XRP investment products are already attracting strong demand. Bitwise’s XRP ETF has recorded $676.2 million in inflows, while Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ has reached $500.9 million.

With another XRP product entering the market, attention will turn to whether it can bring more demand through traditional brokerage accounts.

Oct. 9: XRPL Upgrade Brings the Week to a Close

The busy week ends with a major technical event on Oct. 9, when the XRP Ledger mainnet upgrade window is scheduled to open. The upgrade also includes improvements linked to multi-signature verification and decentralized verifier networks (DVNs).

At the same time, the U.S. SEC’s crypto guidance FAQs have addressed routine software updates on fully functional networks, stating that such changes do not automatically create investment contracts under the Howey test.

XRP Price Outlook: $2.90

These four major events could give XRP fresh support in Q4 2026 as institutional demand remains strong.

Technical analyst Dark Defender sees heavy resistance near $1.60, where around 2.5 billion XRP could act as a seller wall. A break above it could open targets at $1.88 and $2.90.

A daily close above $1.5692 could also push XRP toward $2.90 and $4.11, according to his chart setup.

Meanwhile, U.S. spot XRP ETFs have posted 11 straight weeks of inflows, taking cumulative inflows above $1.79 billion.
