GT Price Tests Long-Term Support as Gate Layer Gains Momentum

GT Price Tests Long-Term Support as Gate Layer Gains Momentum

The GT price has already shown what happens when momentum and the 200-day EMA line up. From $3.60 in 2024, GT surged to $25.92 by early 2025, a nearly 600% rally, before selling pressure dragged it below $7 by the end of the first half of 2026.

GT Price Returns To A Critical Trendline

Now the setup looks different, but not entirely unfamiliar. In August, GT price is sitting around $6.75, directly on a trendline support that has been relevant since 2021. The historical pattern suggests that this support becomes more effective when GT can reclaim and sustain above the 200-day EMA.

That level currently sits around $7.75, leaving roughly a dollar between the current market price and the key technical barrier. So the chart isn’t exactly screaming bullish yet. It is, however, getting close enough for a catalyst to matter.

Active Addresses Suddenly Add More Interest

There is at least one encouraging sign beyond the chart. Active addresses spiked in early August, pointing to rising user interest and network activity.

That’s important because price alone doesn’t tell the entire story. If activity continues increasing while GT remains near long-term support, traders could have a stronger reason to watch whether demand eventually pushes the token back above its 200-day EMA.

Gate Layer Adds Another Potential Catalyst

The latest August 6 update also highlights Gate Layer, an Optimistic Rollup built on Gate Chain L1. Its design uses off-chain execution for high throughput and fast confirmations, while EIP-4844 blobs are intended to reduce transaction costs.

The network is positioned for dApps, AI-agent workflows and other high-throughput on-chain use cases. Whether that becomes the catalyst GT needs remains unclear, but with GT price sitting at long-term support, a sustained break above the $7.75 near 200-day EMA could put $25.92’s historical rally firmly back into the conversation.
